Jambo's Original BBQ Shack serves authentic and savory barbecue born from passion—two guys who dominated the competition world of barbecue deciding to share their award-winning craft with their community. Jamie and Phillip came together after winning many awards and appearing on television, bringing their championship-caliber BBQ to everyday folks craving real, smoked meat done right. Established in 2013, the Rendon location and its recipes were originally created by the famous Jamie Geer, who later sold the business and its recipes to Ashton and Paul Lovato before going on to win the grand championship on BBQ Pitmasters in 2015. Paul and Ashton honored the legacy, kept original recipes and crew, added a couple more items, promoted extensively, then expanded—adding a second location in Arlington, Texas in late July 2015. But this story runs deeper than business transactions. Competitive by nature, Jamie created the Sadie—a fully loaded giant baked potato filled with brisket, sausage, beans, grilled onions, and all the toppings. Phillip told his mom, "Well, he got my potato," so Phillip came up with the Jambo Texan—all signature meats piled high between thick Texas toast. Both became great hits. The "sandwich" is basically all the meats and two slices of bread; customers report two sandwiches weighing roughly six pounds. You better have a big appetite. They ain't small.
